Most of the early EPS motors used brush motors. With the advancement of technology, more and more
motor manufacturers use more advanced and reliable brushless motors. However, the brushless motor
has a great difficulty in stator production. In order to ensure the circularity of the inner diameter of the
stator and simultaneously increase the slot filling rate of winding, the stator core of the stator segment
core block becomes a necessary process for almost all brushless EPS motor manufacturers.

The stator of the motor manufactured by the segment-type process has excellent consistency and product
accuracy. In the actual mass production applications, the roundness of the inner circle can be controlled
to 0.03 mm or less. At the same time, because of the direct winding method, the resistance and
inductance balance of each winding of the motor are controlled to an excellent level. The high quality of
the stator determines the EPS motor's excellent performance in terms of response time, as well as
cogging torque and torque ripple. The segment stator technology is becoming the mainstream of high-
precision motor production process.
