For types of armature, the fixture are needed and tolerance adaption are as below:


1. Armature commutator with same slot bars, the outside diameter tolerance is +4mm


2. When armature outside diameter change, the holding fixture should be changed

It’s not clear for me this percentage of 25 – 30%. We know that the surge test is a comparative test by


wave for results. In your manual is telling that the results deviation of 5%. Please explain me better why


the pulse alternates from 1100 to 1050 for example?




Surge test use High voltage pulse voltage applied to windings, By decaying and comparing the oscillation


waveform space to determine whether the winding have a problem,


The result is a comparing of sample waveform and tested waveform 's area difference, S1-S0/S0 is the


Percentage, it should be within the 'Judge Uper(%)',


Usually some of our local user, the starter armature manufacturer set it as 25%~30%.


And the pulse voltage is not DC, it is alternating,


For example when you input 1000V, it might be 1100V or 1050V,


Applied voltage result in current, the speed of energy release is different every time, too


So the data showed is just a reference, it will be different every time,


In general, The Surge test result is Qualitative rather than quantitative.
